Quentin Witherspoon, Co-Founder

Fifth generation north Texan, Quentin Witherspoon, joined the Marines after high school and began a military career that would allow him to travel the world. While in Central Africa, Quentin began distilling spirits, using basic water distillation equipment. When he returned to Charleston, South Carolina, he met other local distillers and immersed himself in the world of Appalachian moonshining. Eventually, his heart and dream of opening a distillery brought him back to his roots in north Texas.

Quentin resides in Flower Mound, TX with his wife, Michelle, and children Kathryn and Ryan. When he can find the time, he enjoys the art of beekeeping and the occasional hunting or fishing excursion.

Natasha DeHart, Co-Founder

Natasha oversees the distillery’s revenue, business development and customer operations at the distillery. She brings over 15 years of sales and leadership experience to the company. Prior to the distillery, she lived and worked in Munich, Germany. It was in Germany that she and her husband, Ryan, developed a taste for travel and fine beer.

Outside of distillery business, she enjoys homebrewing, traveling and spending time with her family. She lives with her husband, two young sons and baby girl in Old Town Lewisville, Texas.

Ryan DeHart, Co-Founder

Ryan brings over 20 years combined professional and leadership experience to Witherspoon Distillery, including seven years as a US Marine. It was during his time with the Marines in Charleston, SC that he served with and became friends with Quentin. They reconnected in 2011 when they discovered they were both living in the DFW area and had a shared interest in creating handcrafted adult beverages (brewing for Ryan, distilling for Quentin). And as they say, the rest is history.

Ryan holds an MBA from Duke University and is happily married to Natasha.

Mark Davis, Packaging Operations

Mark is the Witherspoon Distillery jack of all trades. Joining in the spring of 2016, he keeps very busy repairing existing equipment, building new equipment and generally taking care of whatever needs to be done to keep production running full-speed. And most recently, Mark has started learning the art of making whiskey.

Mark stays just as busy outside of the distillery. With two teenage boys, his side-gig as a Scoutmaster for Boy Scouts, farm animals to care for, a never-ending honey-do list and a honey that he adores, this guy never slows down.
